'Cherokeeâ„¢' Sweetgum
Form: Pyramidal to oblong round.
Size: 50 to 65 feet tall and a spread of two-thirds of its height.
Zone: 5 to 9.
Leaves: Deciduous. Glossy, deep green changing to deep red and purple in the fall.
Bark: Grayish-brown and deeply furrowed.
Fruit: Almost seedless. Syncarp is 1 to 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
Growth Rate: Medium to fast.
Description: Virtually seedless (gumballs). 'Cherokee' is representative of all the outstanding qualities of Sweetgum species; highly adaptable to most all conditions, brilliant and very consistent fall coloration and a pyramidal to rounded silhouette.
